POWER names new Environmental manager
Air quality professional to take the division’s helm
HAILEY, Idaho (Oct. 25, 2019) ‒ Air quality professional Maria Gou will take on a new leadership role at POWER Engineers Inc., further strengthening the company’s focus on providing a diverse portfolio of environmental services to energy, industrial and federal clients.
Gou has been named the new Environmental Division Manager and will steer the further development of POWER’s environmental consulting services beginning January 1, 2020.
“Maria is a true example of POWER’s servant leadership philosophy,” said Bret Moffett, POWER’s CEO. “She is constantly helping her team work better together, and we look forward to seeing her apply that mindset to the entire division.”
Gou served as President of Austin-based Zephyr Environmental Corporation from 2015 until 2018, when Zephyr was acquired by POWER. Her most recent position was business unit director for POWER’s air quality and related environmental services. She holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in chemical engineering, and more than 25 years of technical, business development, and management experience.
“We always want to do work we’re proud of and serve our clients, but we also need to keep our perspective on what’s right for our employees,” Gou said. “We’ll be working closely to ensure a smooth leadership transition, both for our clients and for our teams.”
Gou succeeds retiring Environmental Division Manager Rob Reid, who has led the division since 2014.
“We’re grateful to Rob for his time and direction at POWER,” said Moffett. “Under his leadership, the division has grown from fewer than 150 employees in 2014 to nearly 250. Rob was instrumental in building POWER’s environmental services portfolio.”
