POWER was retained by JCI to perform initial design and detailed design documents for the addition of a new biomass-fired CHP addition to an existing central steam generation plant. This project was delivered as a performance contract by JCI, using a team that included POWER as the HVAC, structural, mechanical, and electrical design engineer. The new facility included a biomass-fired boiler with a nominal capacity of 40,000 pph to produce saturated steam. A new steam turbine and other auxiliary equipment was included in the project scope. POWER was responsible for providing procurement specifications for balance-of-plant (BOP) equipment and construction documents for installation of major equipment procured directly by JCI. POWER assisted JCI with construction support, including support of construction questions and assistance with start-up procedures. POWER provided the following services:
