POWER was contracted to provide electrical and controls (E&C) services to modify an existing anaerobic digester gas handling system. The existing process collected and flared digester gas to the atmosphere, and the client wanted to instead collect the gas from the digester and then compress, cool, dehumidify, and pipe it to the newly upgraded boiler burners at the main facility. POWER worked with the process engineers on P&ID development and instrument selection, and developed a detailed control philosophy. Following this, POWER revised and issued the E&C bid package for construction, developed PLC and IFIX programs, and provided instrumentation and PLC panel parts, commissioning, and start-up support.
