Senior Protection Engineer - Denver, CO

Job Description: Seeking a System Protection Engineer to work out of our Denver, Colorado office. This position requires a BSEE, professional engineering registration or the ability to become registered, and 5+ years of experience in the area of power system protection and associated studies. The grade level of the position will be determined by the applicants qualifications. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading others in the preparation of computer-based models, performing power system protection coordination studies and developing protective relay settings for utility and industrial/commercial electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including: transmission and distribution line protection, generator, bus, transformer, and circuit breaker failure protection; communication-aided protection schemes; microprocessor-based relay logic definition. Knowledge of power utilization equipment and application considerations including the various types of switchgear, protective relays, breakers, transformers, motors, and generators is required. Experience in transient analysis, planning, stability, load flow, or grounding analysis is beneficial, but not required. Candidate must have good English verbal and written communication skills, be willing to travel, and work successfully in a customer focused, project oriented environment. EEO/AA Employer.
