POWER completed a feasibility study to add 20 MW of electric capacity with exhaust heat recovery. Our evaluation included small gas turbines and 9 MW class reciprocating engines in CHP application. The feasibility study determined two 9 MW reciprocating engines best suited the project needs. We supported Veresen’s bid by developing performance, O&M and capital cost estimates. Veresen was awarded the project and we are currently developing a 20% FEED package that includes PFDs, one-line diagrams, layouts, equipment specifications and equipment pricing for 2-9 MW reciprocating engines, two heat recovery boilers and chillers for the steam and chilled water district energy system.
