POWER Engineers provided our client with a full service package for their new 15,000 sq. ft. free standing bakery building. POWER provided all project management, civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, process and packaging as well as controls engineering to develop a design-bid-build construction documentation package for the facility. POWER went well beyond the typical design services and provided owner’s engineering services to the client. POWER bid out the construction package, qualified and assisted our client in making the final selection of their construction management team, worked on site full time to manage and oversee the work as it was being put in place, provided procurement services for process equipment and control panels. POWER also provided Construction Administration services in support of the construction activity and reported the progress and quality of the final product as it was being constructed to the Owner. POWER was on site through the equipment installation, programming, and commissioning phases working with the vendors and the client to get the equipment working as it was designed for a very efficient start up. The equipment exceeded planned production goals on the first day.
POWER worked hard for the owner with regard to value engineering and improved design decisions so the client could realize substantial savings. The new addition separates FDA oversight of the bakery facility from USDA oversight of the protein further processing facility, but was designed with a higher-level of food sanitation to allow our client flexibility of use in the future. POWER also worked with our client to support the grant funding process they received from the state, both coordinating with the state economic development agencies, the state engineering consultants and eventually the state construction teams. POWER was instrumental in the overall process and keeping the state and their execution moving forward.
