Situational Awareness for SCADA Systems
By Jeff Pack, CISSP, POWER Engineers
As the threat level and attack sophistication increases for supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, the need to increase the ability to detect, respond and recover becomes correspondingly important. This paper discusses the methods to gather information and utilize available tools and techniques to increase situational awareness for SCADA systems. Increased situational awareness will help reduce residual risk associated with incident management and allow a better chance of surviving a malicious electronic attack.
This paper was presented at the 2017 University of Idaho Cybersecurity Symposium.
